Glasswater Events is a wedding coordination business based in Boyne City, Michigan. This page explains what information we collect through this website and when you contact us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. In short: we use your information to answer you and to plan your wedding, and we never sell it.
What we collect
When you check your date. The form asks for your name, email address and wedding date. You can also share your partner's name, your phone number, your guest count, the package you're interested in and any notes.
When you request the free checklist. The form asks for your name and email address so we can send it to you.
When you call, text or email us. We keep what you send us, along with your phone number or email address, so we can reply.
Once you book. Planning a wedding means hearing about your vendors, your timeline, your guests and your day. That information is used only to plan and run your wedding, as described in your agreement with us and on this page.
When you browse this site. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how people found us, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location such as the city. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. The company that hosts this site, Netlify, also keeps standard server records such as IP addresses and the time of each visit, to keep the site secure and running.
How we use it
- To let you know whether your date is open and to answer your questions
- To send the free checklist you asked for
- To plan and coordinate your wedding once you book, including your agreement and payments
- To send occasional emails with wedding planning tips if you requested the checklist. You can stop these anytime by unsubscribing or replying to tell us.
- To see which pages are helpful and improve the site
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising on other websites.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the people and services that help us do our work:
- Aisle Planner, which runs our inquiry and checklist forms and keeps our client records. The forms on this site are provided by Aisle Planner, so their privacy policy also applies to what you type into them.
- Google, for website analytics.
- Netlify, which hosts this website.
- Our email and phone providers, which carry our messages to you.
- Your wedding vendors and venue, once you book, so we can coordinate your day. We share only what they need, such as your timeline, contact details and setup plans.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics sets small files called cookies in your browser to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's analytics opt out add on. The site works the same either way. The Aisle Planner forms may set their own cookies.
How long we keep it
If you contact us but don't book, we keep your inquiry for up to two years in case you come back to us, then delete it. If you book, we keep your records for as long as we need them to finish our work and to meet tax and business record requirements, usually seven years. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also stop our emails whenever you like. Just email hazel@glasswaterevents.com and we'll take care of it, usually within a few days. If you're a booked client, we may need to keep some records until your wedding is complete and for tax purposes.
Keeping it safe
We use trusted services with secure connections and limit access to the people who need it. No website or email is perfectly secure, so please don't send payment card numbers or other sensitive details through the forms or by email.
Children
This site and our services are meant for adults planning weddings. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
